Thën-lèthètê Bî

Thën-lèthètê Bî (/ˈqovë/ /lèˈʃètɘ/ [purple] [drugstore]) is a temperate Town located in the G̈mthêldèthêkè Zone of the Union of Engineers.

The name Thën-lèthètê Bî is derived from the Iron Elvish language, as Thën-lèthètê Bî was founded by Nrêm Zlêrega, who was culturaly Iron Elven.

Climate

Thën-lèthètê Bî has a yearly average temperature of 22°C (71°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 26°C (78°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cool 19°C (66°F). Thën-lèthètê Bî receives an average of 68 cm/y (26 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the spring. Thën-lèthètê Bî covers an area of nearly 4 km² (1 mi²), and an average elevation of 10352 m (-8986 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Thën-lèthètê Bî was founded durring the late 13th century in fall of the year 1183, by Nrêm Zlêrega. The establishment of Thën-lèthètê Bî was only bairly constructed. The sheer number of problems with its founding were enough to make several of the backers funding Thën-lèthètê Bî's construction back out of the project. Nrêm Zlêrega pushed on reguardles, and Thën-lèthètê Bî was finished, but starts off as a terible place to live.

Thën-lèthètê Bî was built using the conventions of Iron Elven durring the late 13th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Thën-lèthètê Bî is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Thën-lèthètê Bî is buildings are arranged arround a single premissive paverstone mainstreet with many smaller streets branching off of it which gives the town a over all rectangular shape, albit one warped and twisted by the nature of the curves of the main road. The town sits comfortably behind a palisade wall complete with a timber gatehouse and battlments. Astonishigly, the timber-based walls are in pristine condishion, as if they had just been finished before you laied eyes upon them.

A look around Thën-lèthètê Bî makes it abundantly clear the town suffered something horrible some time ago. It’s a quiet town filled with closed scriptoriums, people quietly yet dejectedly reading in isolated places around town, and the occasional book laying in a heap of garbage.

Civic Infrastructure

Thën-lèthètê Bî has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Thën-lèthètê Bî.

Thën-lèthètê Bî has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.

Thën-lèthètê Bî has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.

Thën-lèthètê Bî has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Thën-lèthètê Bî's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Thën-lèthètê Bî has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands.

Thën-lèthètê Bî has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Thën-lèthètê Bî has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.

Cultural Notes

Thën-lèthètê Bî's town hall was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is which made use of the classical orders and mathematically precise ratios of height and width combined with a desire for symmetry, proportion, and harmony. It used columns, pediments, arches and domes are imaginatively in buildings of all types. Decorative features were seen as largely unnecessary as the sheer beauty of the structure itself was often close to art. However, many buildings with large ceiling spaces had their ceilings decorated with elaborate paintings, simply because the large flat spaces could feel wasted.

In Thën-lèthètê Bî rain occurs in reverse with water pooling up from the earth then falling into the skies to from clouds, this unsettles every visitor that sees it.

Thën-lèthètê Bî's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in autumn and involves line dance to channel Augury energies of tier 1 via proclamations.

The locals often repair the road by putting down wooden decking.

If the settlement is prosperous, the locals often lament how much more they could have had. If the settlement is not prosperous, the locals blame their ill fortunes on that event.
